Friends! Happy Monday!

Wanted to share an easy weekend style with you today. Summer is hopefully coming to end. I mean, it's been too hot, y'all. I used to love summer, but maybe that's because I had a summer break from school?! Ha!

As you can tell, I'm slowly creeping into fall attire. It was way too hot outside but I'm a jeans girl and gotta get my fix. I shared this tank a while back, paired with a dress and thought it needed to be shown more casual as well. I also paired it with a cardigan the other day for work and it looked cute, too. So in case you're wondering - yes, you can transition it to fall as well. More times than not my pieces are going to pair well over multiple seasons.

Girl on a budget.

Also, have you guys gotten a pair of tassel earrings yet? You should! They are so fun and add a bit of sass to any outfit. I like the brightness of these paired with the olive top. I'm also thinking they'll be a fun piece to wear for my brother's upcoming wedding. My baby brother is getting married! I can't believe it. I'm gonna be so emotional. I get teary-eyed just thinking about it. How is he so grown up now?!

Time flies.

Speaking of time, I'm going to be 30 soon and I also can't believe that. I'm curious to know what I will feel like the day of. Hopefully no different. I currently feel 25, so trying to keep it that way!

I have noticed recently that I'm falling back into a dip of dealing with life and it's struggles. I've been sick, too many times this year, feel like a few relationships are changing and definitely still trying to figure out how to cope with what it seems like, never-ending fertility issues. I have my days, as I'm sure we all do, and I'm trying to keep my head up.

We saw our doctor last Friday and he said something that had me swallowing to suppress the tears. He told me, "Don't worry about your friends, neighbors and strangers having babies - your time will come - be patient". But haven't I been patient already? I've said this before and I'll say it again. I am sorry for anyone who is currently dealing with or dealt with infertility. It is a daily struggle. It hurts, really deep, and it changes you.

I've been thinking more about changes, and with turning 30 soon there are a few things I want to change about myself and my life. I feel like I'm in need of a cleanse. A cleanse from many things. Have you ever felt that way?

I recently started reading Present over Perfect and boy does it hit close to home. If you haven't seen or heard about it, I highly recommend that you check it out. Just upon reading the tag line - Leaving Behind Frantic for a Simpler, More Soulful Way of Living - I was hooked. Yep, that's me and that's exactly what I'm wanting needing.

I don't want to look back later in life and regret being so caught up in the day-to-day. It's so easy to do so, but then I think about everything there is to see and do and be happy about. How can we let one simple thing ruin our day when we're surrounded by such beauty? I'm searching for a way to understand that and when I find it, you'll be the first to know! I'm thinking the book above will be my ticket.

I didn't really mean for today's post to turn into all things personal. But hey, sometimes it happens.

Let's make today a good one! Thanks for reading, friends.

  1. Aw, Steph. I'm sorry. I know we haven't talked much lately but I know how busy you've been. I'm so sorry you and Chris are struggling with this. It's very unfair. I truly hate it for you. I wish there was something I could do to help you. But you are so beautiful inside and out and truly looking amazing. I really love everything about this look too. I hope we can get together soon.

  2. I've been hearing things about that book and am going to order it now. My struggles are not the same as yours, but i completely understand what you mean. I've been mentally beating myself up about not being "enough" and its exhausting. Working on it now, and finding all that inner peace.

    have a great weekend!

    1. It is such a great book! I have been agreeing with every thing the author says, from the very beginning. I think it will touch many people, all with different struggles. I hope that you enjoy it as much as I am, and get the balance you're needing!
